What is the 5 Factor Diet?

I've read about this diet in lots of magazines, but I don't quite understand it...I know you're supposed to eat 5 times a day and workout 25 minutes a day....But, what foods does it include?? How are the foods balanced out? Also, could it be a good diet for me? I plan to lose 8-10 lbs.

There’s a book… I have it somewhere… the diet didn’t work out for me, though. It’s too restrictive and specific.

The idea is to prevent your body from being hungry. You should focus on getting 1500 – 2000 calories a day. About 40% of those calories should be from fat and 30% from protein and then carbohydrates. You can change the percentage a little, but make sure you get your calories from all groups.

You want to focus on foods that maintain fullness. This includes fiber, complex carbohydrates (starch and whole wheat), proteins, and healthy fats ( monosaturated and polysaturated).

You should try to stay away from highly processed foods. This includes hot dogs, twinkies, cookies, and products made from white flower. Try to eat more whole foods. They typically take longer for the body to burn and less likely to spike insuline levels.

You should consume “power foods” often.

Nutrition data is an awesome website. They indicate what foods are good for weight loss, weight gain, and maximum health. Periodically read what you eat on here. :D

http://www.my-calorie-counter.com is a great place to record your diet and exercise. If you really want to lose the weight quick, I suggest doing more than just 25 minutes a day. This would include a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio, weight training, and stretching.

I am trying to loose weight also. I try to spend 1 hour at the gym and exert myself. :D

Good luck! Remember, restrictive diets are not reasonable. It is better to change your lifestyle and enjoy the benefits for long time. ;)
