Play Online Poker, But Beware

poker3Online gambling is exactly that; a gamble. There are scams, just like with everything else, but there are reputable online poker games as well. Some of the stories I’ve encountered in chat rooms detail what to look out for while you’re having fun.

Beginners’ Luck? Not so Much.

If you plan to play online poker do yourself a favor and take either a crash course in it or research it to the best of your ability. The people that are playing online poker have been doing so for a long time and they know what they’re doing. You can’t walk into something totally green and expect to beat the pros. Some of the online poker sites offer frequent player points, which is great unless you’re so new to the game that you lose in mere moments, thereby having nothing to show. Those f.p. points are based on the level at which you play and how much time you play there. Losing your money quickly because you don’t know what you’re doing when the other guys do is not the scam of which I speak, however.

The Jig is Up!

A scam which has reportedly been in existence for approximately three years was uncovered recently; whereby, the people involved were winning not only 100% of the time but at breakneck speeds. Poker online is a fast game, particularly when you’re playing with people who really know their stuff. We’re not talking about that kind of speed. We’re talking about a ridiculous rate of speed. It was somehow put together as software by employees of a couple of companies which enabled them to see the cards that all players were holding. Seriously, even I could win doing that. It’s not up to me to out these sites. Simply Google online poker scams before you play, so that you can have fun without having to worry.
