People don't like to think about getting older, but it's a fact of life and none of us can escape it. For women, dieting and weight loss becomes more of a challenge once they hit forty because their metabolism seems to change. Of course, forty is not a magic number. Some women will start having trouble with weight loss when they are in their mid to late thirties and some women might not have any problems until they get closer to fifty, but they are all going to struggle with it eventually.
With that being the case, women who are in that time of their lives need to start paying more attention to what they eat and how much of it. Once metabolism slows, food can't be consumed in as large of amounts as it was in the past, or weight will be gained. Working out can help to stop some of that because it burns calories and also keep metabolism up for many women, but it won't completely take away the changes that are occurring in a women's body.
Sensible and lighter eating is something that all women over forty should be considering.
